- Although born in the Unites States Sixto Rodriguez originally had greater career success overseas, including Australia, New Zealand, and notably South Africa and Southern Africa, where unbeknownst to him until 1997 he was a super star. A documentary, Dead Men Don't Tour: Rodriguez in South Africa 1998, details this story.
