Can you frame the artwork I purchase?
Yes. Go to the Framing Category for framing options and prices.
Questions about autographs?
Is the authenticity of autographs guaranteed? Yes, we guarantee all autographs. In most cases the artist, Robert Hurst, has obtained the autographs personally. Whenever possible, a photo of the athlete will be taken during the signing. You will receive with your autographed artwork a copy of this photo along with a Certificate of Authenticity. How come I don’t see the autograph in the online picture? Most often a picture of the artwork is taken before the autograph was obtained. These unsigned pictures are posted to the web site. If you would like to see a picture of the artwork with the autograph just email us. We will be happy to provide accommodate your request.
What utensils are used to autograph artwork?
Pencil is one of the accepted methods of signing fine art prints and is appreciated by collectors because of its non-fading properties. Pencil, however, is only an option on prints surrounded by white borders. Paint pens are often used when the artwork is signed on the image and for original artwork. Silver and gold are the artist Robert Hurst’s personal favorites. Sharpies are also commonly used, however, be careful with direct sunlight as the signature may fade over time.
Can I commission artwork?
Yes, if you have an idea for an original painting please let us know. Artist Robert Hurst would be happy to work with you to create a special piece just for you. Individuals and businesses commission over half of the original paintings Hurst sells. Commissions require a 25% non-refundable deposit, and usually need a lead-time of approximately 60 days. If you have a target date, like and a birthday or other special occasion, Hurst will do his best to accommodate it. E-mail or call us to get started today or for further information.
Do you have a printed catalog?
No, we do not print a catalog. Because our selection is growing all the time a printed catalog would be inefficient. We are committed to updating our web site as often as possible to bring you the latest availability. If you don’t see what you need on the web site please e-mail us with your request (i.e. particular team, athlete or sport) and we will do our best to assist.
Do you have written information about the artist?

Do you have a physical store I can visit?
The artist has a studio in Austin, Texas that you can visit by appointment. Call 512.444.7661 to set up a time. You can also view Hurst’s original artwork, giclees and limited edition prints at various galleries around the country including those in Houston, Dallas, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Can you help me appraise & resell my sports memorabilia, art and collectibles?
No, we only work directly with and represent the artwork of Robert Hurst. We do not appraise or re-sell sports memorabilia or secondary market art in the possession of private collectors, agents etc.
Glossary of Art Terms:
Double Matted: What do we mean by double-matted? We add two mats to the print, a top mat and bottom mat for accent color
Museum or Gallery Wrap: is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides of the stretcher bars and secured to the back of the wooden frame. The result is the hardware (staples for example) used for securing the canvas is not visible on the sides. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished artwork
Giclee (jhee-clay) is derived from the French word “gicleur”, which means “spray of ink”. A Giclee is a fine art print utilizing computers and high-end printers. Giclees are the highest quality reproductions being made today and are the closest thing you can get to an original. The giclee process begins with a detailed scan of the original artwork. Then, using state-of-the-art printers, millions of droplets of ink per second are sprayed onto archival paper or canvas. Supervising the process are highly trained technicians and professional colorist. While the giclee process is expensive the results are unparalleled
